The i10 which was initially launched in 2007 was a decent hit for an entry level hatchback back then. It was a quite distinct hatch back then due to its modern design compared to its other rivals. Hyundai was an evolving manufacturer in India then and hadn’t had a significant market share which hampered its sales. Over the years, Hyundai has found the correct mixture to get on top of the list and in recent reports it is found that Hyundai is the top selling manufacturer in the Indian automotive market. The first generation i10 after selling a significant amount for 6 years was replaced by the second generation i10 called the Grand i10, which was more refined, attractive, eco-friendly, feature-loaded and more technology featured. Until then, Hyundai had grabbed a significant market share and it managed to sell the Grand i10 a lot more than its predecessors. Hyundai loaded the Grand i10 with top notch and first in class elements making it a worth for its price car. Even though the Grand i10 charged a significantly higher premium than the predecessor, the Grand i10 was totally worth it. Hyundai always gives various options to its customers and provide options of around 6-8 variants in both the cars.
The new model will be make a comeback with a fresh set of cosmetic and feature upgrades. Also the new Hyundai Grand i10 is based on an all-new platform which is expected to be lighter, flexible, safer and wider than its predecessor. Grand i10 Nios is expected to sell in more number due to its class apart features and cabin room. Even though it’s a facelift it has not got a lot of changes to clearly distinguish it with its predecessor, meaning that it will advance in interior comfort and features more than giving visual aesthetics. The all-new i10 will be a benchmark in its segment and will give a tough competition to its rivals like the Ford Figo, Maruti-suzuki Swift, Nissan Micra, Honda Brio e.t.c.
From the outside, the vehicle is also expected to get a new front with a redesigned headlamp and tweaked front grille. It will further get redesigned bumpers and a fresh set of rear tail lamp. The sides resemble the current generation model apart from a fresh set of alloy wheels. However, the vehicle will not lose its young and tall-body styling element. Which means the car will still be very appealing and cute to some. It will also get an all new LED setup combined with the front grille making it more attractive and distinct. The measurement will be almost the same as the previous generation that means the size will not vary as such.
As for the interior, the new Grand i10 will get a new dual-tone upholstery for freshness and a touchscreen infotainment system. The vehicle will be offered with standard safety features such as dual front airbags and ABS. The interior is just a pleasure to watch with nicely laid out design and minimalistic usage of buttons just gives it the icing on the cake. Overall the cabin is very safe and sound with supreme quality for a car in this league.
Under the hood, the all-new #Hyundai Grand i10 will be powered by the existing petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol version will continue with the 1.2-litre Kappa engine that develops 81bhp of power and 114Nm, while the diesel version will get the current 1.2-litre three-cylinder engine that generates 74bhp of power and 190Nm of torque. Both the variants get the five-speed manual gearbox as standard while the petrol gets the four-speed automatic option. All this means that the all-new grand i10 will be more punchy and peppy with the latest engine tweaks.
The Grand i10 NIOS is a perfect mix of quality, design, power, aesthetics and features. This should be a great deal for a family looking for a day to day travel car. It is going to have a price of around Rs.5.5lakh and is expected to launch in August 2019.
